Phillip Bolt
Mr. Bolt has over 20 years experience in the aerospace industry, and is an expert in aircraft securitizations, insurance wraps, and other forms of aircraft financings. Mr. Bolt had an active role in the structuring and marketing of BAe's and Saab's securitization of their aircraft portfolios. Mr. Bolt is currently an independent consultant, where he runs Bolt Advisory.

Your browser may not support display of this image.Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Mr. Bolt was an Executive Director of Willis Limited from April 2002-2006. He was part of the Willis mission to grow its center of excellence for innovative risk solutions. His focus was on risk mitigation and value creation for the aviation & transportation client base. He also provided guidance on a variety of risk mitigation products for the leasing and asset finance sectors.

After joining Willis, Mr. Bolt extended his expertise to cover transactions in the property, mortgage, health, manufacturing, and energy sectors. These activities utilised a variety of different products including, portfolio credit enhancement, asset value protection, performance bonds, surety and other insurance/derivative based risk mitigation practices.

Before Willis, he headed the MMC Enterprise Risk Global Aviation Practice as a Managing Director of Marsh. He was responsible for the development, marketing and transacting of enterprise risk products and services to the aviation industry worldwide, including aerospace companies, airlines, airports, financial institutions and other organizations with involvement in the sector.

Prior to the formation of Enterprise Risk, Phil was responsible for marketing the services to this sector for Marsh & McLennan Securities in London. He was central to the successful completion of the $1.3 billion Saab Financial Risk Insurance Program (FRIP), co-leading this transaction to a successful conclusion in November 2000.

Mr. Bolt had worked for more than 22 years in the aerospace sector where he has worked on corporate strategy, M&A evaluations, product launches, and sales and marketing activities. Mr. Bolt has worked for BAe, Airbus and in joint ventures between BAe and partner companies, including Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and the FSU and the Japanese aircraft industry. In 1992/3 Mr. Bolt lead the European Marketing Team on the VLCT collaboration involving Boeing and Airbus & its partner companies. He also oversaw a team carrying out similar work on the 8-nation HSCT project, including US, European, Asian & Russian aerospace companies.

Mr. Bolt has worked with many supplier companies in the areas of product strategy and business development, including a number of successful aircraft launch funding applications to the UK Government and the European Investment Bank. He has been a member of the UK DTI Aviation Panel, worked with the US Center for Strategic & International Studies and represented the United Kingdom at US Transportation Research Board. Mr. Bolt is an engineer by training, having completed both business and economics qualifications during his formal education. He is qualified as an FSA Approved Person having passed the SII Securities, Financial Derivatives & Regulatory exams.
